BodyBilt chairs offer a wide selection of seat and seat mechanisms to choose from.

BodyBilt seats are now available with optional S'port memory foam. Memory foam conforms to your body's shape and has limited short-term restitution properties. In other words, it "remembers" your unique body shape. Utilizing memory foam in combination with the patented BodyBilt seat contour offers users the ultimate custom fitted chair.

It should also be noted that BodyBilt uses memory foam in both the seat pan and the backrest when the S'port foam is specified. To reduce cost, many manufactures only place memory foam in the seat pan.

#7 Seat

BodyBilt's most popular contour. Ideal for both task seating and management and executive needs, this moderate contour adds significant surface area, which reduces seated pressure for almost any user in any working environment. It has more contour than either seat #8 or #6, but less than seat #2. This seat fits the largest percentile of workers with regard to size, weight and frame. Reduced Pommel option.

#2 Seat

BodyBilt's most prominent contour offers the highest level of weight displacement, forward tilt, and weight support. This pronounced contouring ensures maximum body-to-surface contact and minimum seated pressure (psi).

We recommend this seat for average-sized men. The pronounced seat pommel (the "hump") causes your legs to be slightly open while sitting. For this reason, many women prefer the number SEVEN seat style.

#6 Seat

BodyBilt's smaller version of the # 8 with minimal contour. This seat is a popular part of BodyBilt's J-Series task seating for small users, and offers a comfortable choice for petite workers who desire a minimal amount of contour. Men hardly ever choose the minimal contour offered in Seat #6 or #8.

#8 Seat

BodyBilt's minimal contour with a larger surface area. This seat has been styled for use on both the J-Series task seating and the K-Series management seating, and is a popular choice for average to larger size folks, where a minimal amount of contour is desired. If you're petite and desire the same minimal contour, then order seat #6.

BodyBilt J-Style Seat Mechanism J-Style Mechanism

The J-Style mechanism features three levers (for adjusting seat height, seat angle, and backrest angle) and pivots from a point near the center of the mechanism (i.e. center-tilt mechanism).

The J-Style mechanism offers and optional Backrest Depth Adjuster which is highly suggested for users with long thighs. This depth adjustment is NOT available with the K-Style mechanism.

BodyBilt K-Style Seat Mechanism K-Style Mechanism

The K-Style mechanism features three levers (for adjusting seat height, seat angle, and backrest angle) and pivots from a point near the front of the mechanism (i.e. knee-tilt mechanism), allowing a gentle, rocking motion in the free-floating position. This motion is enhanced by the fact that the seat is hinged in front of the body's center of gravity which facilitates an almost effortless rocking mechanism without having to push up on one's toes to rock.

NOTE: The selection of the K-Style Mechanism EXCLUDES the possibility of selecting a drafting option as well as selection of higher than standard cylinder heights. Additionally, it eliminates the possibility of adding the Backrest Depth Adjuster. Therefore, for those with extra long thighs, we often suggest selecting the J-Style Mechanism and Backrest Depth Adjuster options. Conversely, if you are under 5'6", you should select the short height cylinder (2.75" stroke) in the cylinder selection pulldown list when configuring your product.

BodyBilt S-Style Seat Mechanism S-Style Mechanism

The S-Style mechanism is the center-tilt mechanism present on all Big & Tall Models. It features two levers (for adjusting seat height and seat angle), as well as the backrest depth adjustment knob--standard on all S-Series chairs.

NOTE: Please recognize, that for safety reasons, the S-Style Mechanism on these Big & Tall Models does not allow for adjustment of the back angle but does include every reasonable posture adjustment for users of a larger size. It is rated and warranteed for users up to 500 lbs.

BodyBilt I-Style Seat Mechanism I-Style Mechanism

The I-Style mechanism (intensive use)is a bi-synchronous mechanism. This mechanism comes with our Intensive use models which are geared for comfort and extreme durability in a high volume 24 hr/day setting. It works with just two levers. One lever adjusts the chair height. The other lever adjusts the backrest angle and seat angle simultaneously (therefore bi-synchronous). The seat tilt tension knob has a significant effect on adjusting for weight capacity. Additionally, the I-mechanism has its own independent method of adjusting the effective seat length. i.e., it includes a SEAT-DEPTH adjuster which allows one to slide the seat in to the most desired position. Therefore, this negates the need to order a separate Backrest Depth Adjuster like might happen with the J-Style Mechanism.

Please be aware that the I-Style mechanism totally DISALLOWS free floating or rocking the chair.
